The cops are REALLY cracking down at H2Oi and someone already got $1000 of tickets for being too low, no front plate, wheels beyond fenders, etc.
And he basically says "fuck the police" for ticketing him for something illegal. If you don't want to get tickets, build your car in a legal way......
And he can't into grammars ("your" rather than "you're")

LOL. Lucky for me, having no front plate and tires beyond fenders is perfectly legal in Pure Michigan! Not worried about being too low, though.

This reminds me of a kid from my school who put up a video of someone rapping about police brutality against black minority and the Ferguson incident, and essentially comparing it to going to court for his speeding ticket.

Isn't Michigan one of the states that as long as the vehicle can make it to the DMV, it can be registered?

Seriously. I was in an argument with someone saying "cops suck, I've never called the police. I've been stabbed, carjacked and had a gun pulled on me and did I puddle out and call the cops? No"
Maybe there's a reason that happened.......

So is Kansas. In Tennessee, it doesn't even have to be able to make it to the DMV; just you and the title do.

Bullshit.
Here's things that will get you ticketed or at least pulled. I guarantee there's plenty of people here that would get pulled and they haven't even touched their suspension.
-exhaust mods, sure, they have to hear it, but you can't tell me half the people here don't have some mod
-spoilers that block visibility, if the cop wants to, he can say that pretty much any spoiler blocks your visibility.
-revving, what if you have to rev the thing to downshift, or to get the car going?
Modifying your car legally for OCPD is not modifying it at all.

Doesn't even need to make it there as long as you have the title and an insurance policy. We get some scary unsafe stuff on the road, but it also keeps the hot rodding culture alive.

I agree that most of those tickets are BS excuses to give someone a ticket... where I grew up the law stated no vehicle could be modified to be higher or lower than 3" from factory. Besides the fact that that is insanely difficult to prove that, without a doubt, the officer could instantly guarantee it was modified more than 3", I only ever saw lowered cars getting pulled over for this, never lifted trucks..
Personally, I am not a fan of the "low life" as it usually promotes low life people. and some of the cars are modified so poorly they deserve to be ticketed. But again, most of these laws have no true basis for existing other than to give cops a reason to pull you over and "find" probably cause.

Those are all things you'd get pulled for at H2Oi, along with any exhaust mods, that windshield sticker, any window tint, and probably the mud blocking your visibility.
But no, it's a stance problem, not a regulation problem.

Wow man, like yeah, fuck the police because I drive a car that's like, totally not illegal and won't invite attention because the way I built it was so rad man, you get what I'm sayin'?
These people need to stop whining and shut the hell up - "get something better to do"? If you're the one constantly inviting attention from the police in your idiotically low and potentially dangerous vehicle, then I really do suggest you get yourself something better to do because at this rate, you're wasting police time.

but you can be too high!
I've seen people get stopped for bumper height violations. And surprisingly, we do have noise ordinance for exhaust by vehicle type.
I remember in Jersey we had to do inspections and I failed for the silliest shit. Like a bad windshield wiper.
Your truck would be illegal in NJ for wide tires and no front plate.

The same here in Florida. As long as someone from the state verifies the VIN, you are good to go. There are many northern transplant cars spreading rust into the streets down here.

In Florida, you at least have to have someone verify the VIN. Though you can call a number and a state trooper will come to your house to check it.

Don't even have to verify the VIN in MI. My dad now wants to register all of his vehicles under my address out here to avoid NYS inspections, which is a stupid idea when you consider how much more Michigan's no-fault insurance costs.

Spoiler blocking visibility? I've never heard of that being illegal. In most places the only 'visibility' tickets are for the windshield and wing mirrors. How would panel vans be legal if rear vis was ticketable?

Lol I was saying that if he'd used the correct version of the word (you're) in the hashtag #yourkiddingme, it wouldn't have functioned as a proper hashtag because it would be broken by punctuation. However, I think he used "your" in legitimate misunderstanding of the difference between the two words. I don't think he sat there and thought,
"Man, I'd really like to say 'You're kidding me' but I know that the apostrophe will interrupt the function of the hashtag, so I will just use 'your' instead because it will still relate the message; even if it make me look dumb."
Hashtags are of the devil, and I work in social media marketing. So they are a necessary evil for me.
Yes, I realize this was an incredibly other thought point for me to make. This is what I do one slow days at work. lol

But yeah, altering a car's ride height can be tasteful, just like any modification. but going to the point that the only contact patch is the inner sidewall, and that same part of the tire rubs on the inside, its just stupid.

I can't wait! I'm going down Friday and leaving on Monday. I won't be misbehaving, but I must admit that I am looking forward to seeing other people misbehave... Gonna take a lot of pictures of a lot of cool cars too.
Word is out that the cops are bad this year. It's my first year so I have no clue what to expect. I'm "low" (Flyin' Miata springs) but nowhere near slammed so I'll be fine. I don't run much camber either. I hears lots of people were getting tickets just for running excessive camber last year.

It's not a spoiler.
Seriously, they they write laws knowing what vehicles will show up. I'm the last person to say "Oh cops only write tickets for revenue." but in this case it's true. They can't make the cars not come, and the show isn't actually held in Ocean City, but no one goes to the show, and everyone just cruises the strip in OC, which causes traffic backups and all sorts of problems, so the town and PD make laws to target the owners of those specific cars.
They're getting what they want; a lot of people aren't going this year.

Rear visibility is ticketable IF the vehicle doesn't have a passenger-side exterior mirror. Passenger-side mirrors are not required by law on vehicles with unobstructed rear windows (inexpensive cars often weren't factory equipped with passenger-side mirrors until the '90s). This applies to panel vans, trailers, window tint, or modifications such as obstructive spoilers.
TL;DR if the car has a passenger-side mirror, a huge spoiler is no problem.

my corolla sat on the ground and anytime i got pulled over for ride height it was let go since i was polite and didnt mouth off
i understand though that h20 causes a lot of issues amd the cops may be strict regsrdless but if your a decent person to a cop theyre decent right back to you
i also dily drive a straight piped car and cops dont bug me ever for my exhaust ive had sime even ask me to rev it up

Cruising the strip in Ocean City, Maryland (Ocean City, New Jersey, probably doesn't have a strip) is a thing? I've been down there, and the first thing I noticed was that most of said strip consists of the same five or so shops that repeat over and over, like in a Hanna-Barbera cartoon.
The other thing I noticed is that the main activity at OC is drinking large amounts of alcoholic beverages (you'll have a hard time finding alcohol in the other Ocean City) and then being an obnoxious drunk until you attract too much unwanted attention to yourself. The next morning, you would go to the pancake place and what's on the menu? Morning cocktails. Yep, apparently OC is to drunks what Provincetown is to gay people and the other OC is to various flavors of born-agains.

Good lord.
If you know it's illegal you run the risk of getting dinged. Regardless of build theme you can get pulled over for anything that looks or sounds like it's on the wrong side of the law.
Like:
Exhaust noise
Ride height too high or low
Tint too dark
Lights wrong colors or too bright
Tires not DOT approved
5 pt Harnesses not DOT approved
Big ass 8-71 out the hood
License plates not visible
Among a myriad of other things.
This guy is a whiny bitch and that's that. If your car is rolling probable cause then it's your own goddamn fault. If you can drive around with an intentionally broken suspension and stuff then why can't I drive with no front sheetmetal since I think it's in style and good weight reduction?
